Slovene National Theatre Nova Gorica

Nested in the architecture of Vojteh Ravnikar since 1994, and designated an institution of national importance since 2004, this permanent ensemble of 21, accompanied by guest actors and directors, allows for and opens to contemporary approaches and research. If Nova Gorica situates itself at the intersection of Slavic and Romance cultures, the repertoire situates itself at the intersection of baptismal performances of new plays, first stagings of plays by foreign authors, new readings of regional national and international, and global classics, research in musical theatre, authorial projects, performances for children and youth, and contemporary dance co-productions in the cross-border region and beyond, including Visavì Gorizia Dance Festival, and Pan-Adria.
