Founded in 2007 to manage the newly built Municipal Theater, Fondazione Teatro Comunale Città di Vicenza operates as a private law entity, delivering a multidisciplinary live arts program. Vicenza Danza, launched in 1994, has since brought some of the most renowned Italian and international companies to the stage, cultivating a broad and discerning dance audience. In 2024, the Foundation hosted the eighth edition of the New Italian Dance Platform (NID), presenting 20 performances by 20 companies and 125 artists across five venues, attracting over 500 dance professionals—affirming the Foundation’s leading role in dance programming at the national level. Since 2018, the Ministry of Culture has recognized the Foundation’s Danza in Rete festival, with a section dedicated to contemporary and research-based dance. Supporting new generations of artists and choreographers through national networks, the Foundation has been part of the PAN–ADRIA International Network since March 2025.
