“Taking up the region to take on the field”, each year, Pan-Adria launches an Open Call, seeking contemporary dance productions whose novel, transformative, radical, emancipatory and/or sustainable concepts and projects are – indeed – “taking up the region to take on the field”. Circle. The selected contemporary dance production by an established contemporary dance individual and/or collective benefits from co-production funds, production and circulation support, infrastructure and promotion.

Results are in! The Pan-Adria Fellow in 2026/2027 Cycle is Pablo Girolami.

We received a number of strong applications presenting novel, transformative, radical, emancipatory and sustainable concepts. We thank everyone who invested their time and effort in introducing their work to us—we are grateful for the opportunity to become familiar with new voices from the region. The selected contemporary dance production, Rilke Project (working title) by Pablo Girolami / IVONA, will receive coproduction funding, as well as production and touring support, infrastructure and promotion. Pan Adria Network selected the Rilke Project (working title) for the strength and maturity of the choreographic research developed by IVONA, directed by Pablo Girolami. The project stands out for its distinctive dance language, grounded in physical intensity, repetition, and a deep exploration of the body as a site of rhythm and perception. Rooted in the landscapes of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the work embodies the principle of “taking up the region to take on the field,” activating natural environments as spaces for artistic creation. By connecting territory, cultural heritage, and contemporary dance practice, the project opens new ways of engaging with landscape, history, and audience. Through this approach, the Rilke Project reflects the values of artistic excellence, regional dialogue, and contemporary relevance promoted by the Pan Adria Network.
