City of Vicenza Municipal Theatre Foundation

Fondazione Teatro Comunale Città di Vicenza
Vicenza (IT)

Founded in 2007 to bring the newly built Municipal Theater of Vicenza to life, Fondazione Teatro Comunale Città di Vicenza has grown into a vibrant hub for live performance across disciplines. At the heart of its dance activity is Vicenza Danza Festival, which since 1994 has welcomed some of the most exciting Italian and international companies—shaping a curious, knowledgeable, and passionate dance audience along the way. A true meeting point for artists, professionals, and the public, the Foundation plays a key role in the national dance landscape. This was powerfully affirmed in 2024, when it hosted the eighth edition of the New Italian Dance Platform (NID): 20 performances by 20 companies, 125 artists, five venues, and more than 500 dance professionals converging in Vicenza for an intense celebration of contemporary Italian dance.

Since 2018, the Foundation’s commitment to contemporary and research-driven practices has been officially recognized by the Ministry of Culture, through the support of Danza in Rete—a festival section dedicated to exploring new choreographic languages. With a strong focus on nurturing emerging artists and choreographers, the Foundation actively builds national and international connections and has joined Pan-Adria in March 2025, to continue strengthening cross-border exchange, collaboration, and shared movement across the region.
